Arrests made after protest outside Lancaster Castle

At 1pm on Saturday 29th November, a protest took place outside Lancaster Castle, Lancaster, in support of the Defend Our Juries – Lift the Ban on Palestine Action campaign.

The protest was one of a number that took place simultaneously at various locations across the United Kingdom.

During the course of the protest in Lancaster, some of those present displayed material in support of Palestine Action, who are a proscribed terrorist organisation.

This led to 26 people - 16 women and 10 men - being arrested on suspicion of supporting a proscribed organisation under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Those arrested were taken into police custody and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
