Lancashire Constabulary’s East Division welcomes new Neighbourhood Chief Inspector
Martyn Holt is the new Chief Inspector for Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn, who will be responsible for Local Policing and Safer Neighbourhoods.
Chief Inspector Holt’s policing career began in 2000 when he joined Constabulary as a Police Constable at Padiham. Since then, he has worked his way up the ranks in various roles including Operational Support Unit PC, Response Sergeant, Neighbourhood Sergeant, Community Safety Inspector and Response Chief Inspector.
Chief Inspector Holt said: “It is a real privilege to be able to step into the role of Neighbourhood Chief Inspector in a division I have been proud to serve throughout my career.
“I’m committed to working with our local communities, listening to their concerns, and building on the strong relationships that already exist with our partners and residents.
“I am really passionate about Neighbourhood Policing, and I am looking forward to the long-term problem solving that this role will allow me and my teams to really get stuck into.
“It is a really exciting time to join Neighbourhood following the announcement of the new Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee, which will see an increase in visible patrols to tackle crime and ASB, and ensure residents have a named, contactable officer for their area.
“Working closely with our communities and partners, I want to continue to ensure that Blackburn, Darwen and Hyndburn are great places to live, work and visit.
