Large cannabis farm dismantled in Rawtenstall

Tuesday, August 5, 2025

We are investigating following the discovery of a cannabis grow in Rawtenstall.

We were called to an address in the Wood Top area on Monday, 4th August 2025, following reports from the public about the address.

Officers entered the building and discovered over 300 cannabis plants in the address, all of which have been seized.

There was also evidence that the electricity had been bypassed and Electricity North West attended to make the area safe.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and an investigation is underway.

PC Tom Schofield, from Rossendale Neighbourhood Police, said: “The cultivation of cannabis can cause misery for local communities. The hidden dangers that this type of grow can pose, such as risk of fire, can have incredibly harmful consequences for the property and those neighbouring it.

“The cultivation of cannabis can have strong links to organised crime and modern slavery, and it is absolutely unacceptable, and we will continue to tackle this activity in Lancashire.”
