A man has today been found guilty of the murder of Lenny Scott.

Lenny, a former prison officer, was shot dead in cold blood outside a gym in Skelmersdale in February 2024.

He was assassinated by Elias Morgan, a prisoner from whom Lenny had taken an illicit mobile phone, a phone which revealed Morgan, and two others, were involved in relationships with another prison officer called Sarah Williams.

Despite threats from Morgan towards himself and his family Lenny refused to discard the phone – an act of integrity which would ultimately cost him his life.

And today, after a trial lasting almost 10 weeks, Morgan (25/11/1989), of Highgate Street, Liverpool was convicted by a jury of Lenny’s murder.

A second man, Anthony Cleary, was cleared.

Morgan will be sentenced on Tuesday.
