Tuesday, December 23, 2025

We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a forklift truck was in collision with a pedestrian in Preston.

Our officers were called by the North-West Ambulance Service to Essex Street, Preston, just before 2pm yesterday (22nd December) to a report of a collision.

When they attended, they found that a forklift truck had struck a pedestrian on Essex Street – trapping him against a parked DAF Box van.

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment.

Sgt Ben Elliott of our Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the injured man as he undergoes treatment in hospital for his injuries.

“As we investigate the cause of the collision, we are asking for anyone driving in the area who has dashcam footage, or witnessed what happened, to come forward.”
