Blackpool Police are once again running their festive ‘Act of Kindness’ Christmas competition. The popular competition is now in its fourth year and encourages young people to show acts of kindness within their community.
Primary school aged children in Blackpool are being asked to submit a photo carrying out an act of kindness, with the winning entrant getting the chance to become a police officer for the day at Blackpool Divisional Headquarters.
The winning entrant will be issued with their own warrant card at the start of the day, before heading off to meet a variety of different policing units. They will also get to ride in a police car before debriefing at the end of their ‘shift’ with the boss.
Entrants have from 8th December to 14th December 2025 to get their submission in.
PCSO Nic Boan, from Blackpool’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This is an extremely popular competition and one we are so excited to bring back again this year.
“Christmas is a time for community, compassion, and coming together. This competition is about celebrating those acts of kindness that make a real difference in people’s lives. We’re proud to shine a light on the generosity and goodwill of the young people in Blackpool, that keep our communities strong, not just during the festive season, but all year round.”
