A nightclub in Burnley which has had multiple reports of serious anti-social behaviour has been served with a closure order for three months.
On Monday 22nd December 2025, Magistrates granted the order under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Police Act 2014, after numerous reports of anti-social behaviour and regular disorder associated with the Proj3kt Nightclub on Hammerton Street.
A full closure is now active until 22nd March 2026.
Sergeant Stephen Dundon, from the East Licensing Team, said: “This closure order comes after months of hard work alongside our partners to try and prevent this behaviour and to protect our local community.
“I hope that this positive result sends out a clear message that we will take action against those premises that are persistently linked to anti-social behaviour and disorder.”
This activity forms part of wider efforts under Operation NightSafe, which focuses on tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in the night-time economy. Alongside enforcement action, the operation works to create safer spaces for those enjoying a night out by maintaining a visible police presence and collaborating with partner agencies and support services to assist anyone who may be vulnerable.
If you witness any anti-social behaviour or incidents, residents are urged to report them promptly. In an emergency, please call 999. You can also report any concerns around anti-social behaviour or nuisance to the police online www.lancashire.police.uk/doitonline.
