PC Kim Roberts from Blackpool’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said “Shoplifting has a hugely negative impact on our local shops and on those who want to spend time in our town centres.

“We are dedicated to protecting our businesses and the local community from people, like Cherry, who want to take what doesn’t belong to them.

“We want members of staff to feel safe at work so we will continue to support our retail partners and robustly target those who commit crime in our area”

Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
