Neighbourhood policing team conduct successful week of action in Roe Lee

Blackburn with Darwen Police, alongside partner agencies recently conducted a successful week of action to address pressing community concerns. The operation had positive results, with a quantity of drugs being seized and six men and a teenager being arrested in connection with a number of offences. 

Officers carried out a Beat Sweep in the area alongside Blackburn with Darwen Council, Local Councillors, a local primary school and other partner agencies. The activity saw the clean-up of discarded litter, removing items from the stream, as well as removing abandoned vehicles from the area. 

Four warrants were conducted during the week and a 38-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, four men, aged 26, 31, 18 and 25, all from Blackburn, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, and a 17-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man, both from Blackburn, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. All have been released under investigation. 

Inspector Peter Norris, from the Blackburn Neighbourhood Team said: “It’s great that we have been able to conduct this activity, and we will continue to actively work with our partner agencies to tackle the issues and concerns of our communities.
