Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing Team have secured a Closure Order for the European Mini Market on Manchester Road, Haslingden.
This action was the result of a joint operation between Lancashire Police and Trading Standards, targeting the ongoing concern and supply of illegal and illicit tobacco, cigarettes, vapes, and e-cigarettes.
Over the past 12 months, four joint inspections have taken place at the premises, resulting in the seizure of illicit products valued at over £30,000. The application for the Closure Order was supported by evidence provided by the local community.
On Wednesday 15th October 2025 Burnley Magistrates Court granted a Closure Order for a period of three months, the maximum length available, effectively prohibiting access to the property during this time.
Sergeant Paul Marsden from the Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We have worked hard with our partners to secure this Closure Order, and the outcome reflects our continued commitment to tackling illegal trading in Lancashire. We hope this sends a strong message that this kind of activity will not be tolerated.
“We appreciate the support of our local community and would ask that you continue to tell us about these issues.”
If you have any information about the sale of illegal tobacco or vaping products, please report it here https://doitonline.lancashire.police.uk/.
