Appeal after pedestrian sadly died following collision in Chorley

We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a pedestrian died following a serious collision in Chorley.
Our officers were called to Lyons Lane at 12.20pm on 20th March following a report a BMW 320d had collided with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital with a head injury where he has since sadly died. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
The driver of the BMW has not been arrested and is being treated as a witness.
Sgt Laura Kendall, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “As a result of this collision a man has lost his life and my thoughts are very much with his loved ones at this distressing time.
“A number of enquiries have been carried out since the initial collision, however work is still ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to it. As such, I would ask any witnesses, or anybody who has dashcam or CCTV footage which would assist us with our enquiries, to contact the police as soon as possible.”
