We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a man very sadly died in a collision in Blackburn.
At 12.25am today we were called to Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, to a report of a collision involving two vehicles.
Our officers attended and found that a Peugeot 107 had been in collision with a parked, unattended Toyota Landcruiser.
The front seat passenger in the Peugeot, a man in his 40s, suffered traumatic injuries, and despite the best efforts of medical personnel, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family and loved ones at this distressing time, and they are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
As we investigate the collision, we are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dashcam/CCTV footage from the area, to contact us.
Please contact 101, quoting log 0027 of 2nd April, or email our Serious Collision Investigation Unit at [email protected]
A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was taken to hospital for treatment and remains under investigation.
