Saturday, April 4, 2026

We are appealing for witnesses and footage following a serious road traffic collision in Lancaster on Good Friday.

Our officers were called to Morecambe Road at 6.26pm following reports a Chevrolet Spark Plus travelling towards Greyhound Bridge Road had collided with a stationary Kia Ceed at the traffic lights. The Kia then collided with a pedestrian on the crossing.

The pedestrian suffered a serious leg injury. She was taken to hospital, where she remains.

The passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to hospital having suffered a number of injuries. Her condition is described as serious but stable.

The driver of the Kia suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while investigation work was carried out, but has since re-opened.

Sgt Bex Price, from our Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has led to people being left with some very serious injuries and my thoughts are with all those impacted by it.

“Our job now is to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and that is why I am asking for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage to contact the police as soon as possible.”
