35 PCs sworn in as part of Police Constable Entry Programme

Lancashire Police have welcomed a total of 35 new Police Constables in the latest attestation ceremony held on Tuesday 4th August at their Headquarters in Hutton.
The new cohort of PCs were sworn in in the presence of a presiding magistrate, Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett, Assistant Chief Constables Stasia Osiowy and Jason Devonport and Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.
Representing Lancashire’s ninth Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) intake, the new officers promised to uphold the key values and principles that the force expects from all within the organisation.
Their attestation ceremony is an important moment for all police officers as they embark on a career in policing.
The pledge made by every new officer underlines their commitment to serve Lancashire Police and the public with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality throughout their time in post.
Now that they have sworn an oath to the King, the new recruits have been granted their policing powers, including the power to arrest.
Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett, who attended the attestation ceremony, said:
“An attestation ceremony remains one of the most definitive milestones in a policing career. Presenting our newest officers with their warrant cards in the presence of their families serves as a profound reminder of our fundamental purpose.
“They have shown real determination during a tough selection process, and we have full confidence in them as they start serving the people of Lancashire with courage, empathy, and honesty.
“This ceremony is more than just a formal milestone; it is a serious promise to protect vulnerable people, listen to every community voice, and lead with openness. These officers are entrusted to uphold the law while demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism. I look forward to watching these officers grow in their careers and make a lasting, positive difference in our neighbourhoods.”
