Appeal following fatal collision on Centenary Way, Burnley

We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a pedestrian very sadly died following a road traffic collision with a car on Centenary Way, Burnley.
Emergency services were called to Centenary Way, Burnley at 9:20pm on Tuesday 25th August following reports that a white Volkswagen Golf collided with a pedestrian.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a man in his 60s, very sadly died at the scene.
Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this distressing time, and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the VW Golf remained at the scene and is assisting Police with enquiries.
Sergeant Andrew Swindlehurst of our Roads Policing Unit said: “A man has very sadly died following this collision, and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation, and I am appealing directly to you, the public, for your assistance.
