In May last year, the Wyre Task Force executed a drugs warrant at a property on Sandpiper Avenue Poulton-le-Fylde, under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Once inside the property, officers found what was believed to be a significant amount of Class A cocaine along with a large quantity of bags of what was believed to be Class A Heroin, in addition to other drug paraphernalia such as weighing scales.
Subsequently, Levi Granger, 30, of Sandpiper Ave, Poulton le Fylde was arrested and later charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A. He pleaded guilty in December and was remanded until his sentencing.
This week, on Tuesday 4th February, Granger appeared before Preston Crown Court where he was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
Sergeant Andy Ward, from Wyre Police, said: “This work was undertaken as part of Op Warrior, a branch of our Clear, Hold, Build campaign which is seeing great success in ensuring Wyre is an unwelcome place for anyone wishing to commit crime.
“This sentence reflects the seriousness of bringing harmful drugs into our communities, and it sends a clear message to anyone involved in this kind of criminality. Our officers worked tirelessly to gather evidence, disrupt this activity, and protect the public. We will continue to take decisive action against those who choose to profit from causing harm in our neighbourhoods.”
