Last Friday (17 July) officers from Blackpool’s Neighbourhood Policing Team successfully secured a closure order for an address in the town.
The address, on Bratby Close, has been linked to a number of reports including anti-social behaviour (ASB) causing concern for neighbours living nearby.
The closure order was passed by Preston Magistrates’ court under section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. It restricts anyone expect the tenant from entering the property until October 2026 and anyone seen entering, leaving or staying in the property without reasonable excuse can be arrested, and could face a fine or imprisonment.
Neighbourhood Sgt Lewis Cosh said: “This property was causing persistent disturbances for neighbours and I hope that this closure order offers the community respite from the anti-social behaviour displayed by visitors to this property.
“We will always work with our partners to directly address criminality and anti-social behaviour in our communities, and I hope this closure order is evidence of this. I would urge anyone with concerns to report these to us either on our website or by calling 101. In an emergency always call 999.”
This activity was undertaken as part of Operation Centurion, which sees Lancashire Police officers robustly tackling anti-social behaviour through targeted activity and high visibility patrols.
