Two men and a woman have been arrested following a series of warrants in Preston this morning.
Officers from the Preston Task Force and Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out four warrants under Section 8 PACE at addresses on Pope Lane, Burholme Close, Mitton Drive and Sheardley Avenue.
During searches of the properties, officers recovered a quantity of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, around £10,000 in cash and over 100 weapons, including machetes, samurai swords and knuckle dusters.
A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, a 21-year-old man is under arrest on suspicion of possessing a Class B or Class C drug and a 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering. All three, who are from Preston, are currently in custody waiting to be questioned.
Adam Pearson, Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Preston, said: “As a result of today’s activity, a quantity of suspected drugs and weapons have been seized.
“These items have the potential to cause significant harm, and their removal from our streets is a positive outcome for the public.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing, and we will continue to take robust action against those involved in criminal activity. It is not welcome in Preston.”
