Nelson man jailed after drugs found at his home

A man from Nelson has been jailed after drugs were found at his home during two raids by police. 

In August 2024, a significant amount of cannabis was found at an address in Barkerhouse Road, Nelson, which was at the time was the home of Paul Metcalfe (pictured).

Another search warrant was carried out in October last year at Metcalfe’s home in Pont Street, Nelson.

On this occasion, quantities of cocaine and heroin were seized.

Metcalfe was arrested and subsequently charged and remanded to prison.

At Preston Crown Court last month, Metcalfe, 37, formerly of Pont Street, Nelson, appeared for sentence after pleading guilty to possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply.

He was jailed for four years and four months.
