Appeal: Rider of Ebike rider dies following Fleetwood collision
Thursday, March 12, 2026
Last month we told you about a collision involving an Ebike in Fleetwood and we have a very sad update to bring you.
Our officers were called around 6.35pm on Tuesday 3rd February to Brock Avenue, Fleetwood, to a report of a collision.
They found that an Ebike had been in collision with an unoccupied parked car, with the rider falling from the bike.
The rider, was taken to hospital with serious head and leg injuries.
Very sadly, the rider who we can now name as Stuart McBride, 50, from Fleetwood, died in hospital on 4th March.
Sgt Ben Elliott of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are very much with Stuart's family, loved ones and friends at this distressing time.
“During our investigation into the cause of the collision, we have received a great deal of support from the local community, and I would like to thank them for that support.
“The investigation is ongoing, and again, I would like to appeal for witnesses and to anyone who has dashcam/CCTV from the area, to come forward.
“If you think you can help and haven’t yet spoken to us, please get in touch.
“The Ebike was ridden away from the scene of the collision before the emergency services arrived, and it is so important that we trace the person who removed it and trace the Ebike which we believe was black and purple in colour.
“If you were the person who took the Ebike away, please come forward to speak to us.”
