We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a man was left seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Darwen.
Our officers were called to Church Bank Street at 9.05pm yesterday (23rd May) following reports that an Audi Q4 Etron had collided with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – a man in his 40s – suffered a number of serious injuries and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Audi, a 28-year-old man from Old Langho was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody at this time.
Sgt Joe Calvert, from our Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a man with a number of significant injuries and my thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time.
“Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to the collision. We know there were a number of people in the area attending the local music festival who potentially saw what happened or captured the incident on mobile phone footage. We want to hear from them as soon as possible. We would also ask that anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which could help us with our enquiries to contact the police as soon as possible.”
