Blackpool Man Charged with Multiple Driving Offences

Blackpool Police have charged a man with multiple driving offences.

It relates to an incident on 29th April 2026, in which officers were involved in a pursuit when the driver of a vehicle failed to stop, eventually crashing on Ripon Road. Two men, aged 32 and 29 were arrested nearby.

We can now tell you that Mitchell Edwards, 32, of Belmont Avenue, Blackpool has been charged with three counts of Driving whilst Disqualified, three counts of Driving without third party insurance, Dangerous Driving, Failing to Stop for police, Police Assault and Being found on enclosed premises.

Edwards was remanded to prison and is due to appear at Preston Crown Court on 12th June.

A second man, Luke Oliver, 29 of Forest Gate, Blackpool was also subsequently charged with Being found on enclosed premises and will appear before Lancaster Magistrates on 29th May 2026.
