A man from Accrington has been sentenced to more than three years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Hassan Khan, 22, of Fountain Street, was first arrested in March 2025, when he was found in possession of heroin and crack cocaine. He was arrested again in June 2026, when he had both Class A drugs in his possession again, along with almost £700 in cash.

Khan appeared at Burnley Crown Court last Thursday (15 October) where he was sentenced to 38 months in prison.

Sergeant Jade Hutchinson from the Hyndburn Taskforce Police Team said: “This sentence is further evidence of how committed we are to dismantling and disrupting drug supply in Accrington. Drugs bring harm and criminality to our communities, and we will continue to disrupt activity through proactive policing, to make sure our communities are safe places to live, work and visit.

“The information we receive from the public is invaluable to the police and without it we would be unable to carry out this sort of proactive work.”

Operation Warrior is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire, supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

It aims to target the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
