E-vehicles seized in day of action across Pendle

Monday, October 5, 2026

A number of e-bikes and e-scooters have been seized to be destroyed following a day of proactive action in Pendle last Wednesday (30 September).

Officers from the Pendle Neighbourhood Policing Team used a variety of tactics, including wearing plain clothes, using unmarked cars, and flying a drone, to track riders in areas affected by anti-social behaviour.

Nine e-scooters and an e-bike were seized by officers, which will now be destroyed. A car was also seized for being used in the commission of crime, and various people were given TORs (Traffic Offence Reports).

Sgt Carl McCoy from the Pendle Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This operation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour and keeping our communities safe, as part of Op Centurion.

“We know the misuse of e-bikes and e-scooters can cause significant concern and frustration for local people and those using them illegally should be aware that we are actively targeting this behaviour. Our officers used a variety of methods to identify offenders and remove vehicles that were being used irresponsibly. These results show that proactive policing works, and we will continue carrying out operations like this to make Pendle's streets safer for everyone."

Op Centurion is a county-wide crackdown on anti-social behaviour, led by Lancashire Constabulary and backed by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw, delivering his priority of getting tough on anti-social behaviour, with the support of our partners.
